ROGER DEAKINS, A.S.C./B.S.C. (Director of Photography) has received three Academy Award nominations, including one for "Kundun," directed by Martin Scorsese. For that film he also earned awards for Best Cinematography from the National Society of Film Critics, The New York Film Critics Circle and the Boston Society of Film Critics.

Deakins has had a long collaboration with the director/producer team of Joel and Ethan Coen, including such films as "Fargo" (for which he received his second Academy Award nomination, an A.S.C. nomination and an Independent Spirit Award), "The Hudsucker Proxy," "Barton Fink" and "The Big Lebowski." Deakins also teamed with director/producer Edward Zwick on "The Siege" and "Courage Under Fire."

Deakins' other motion picture credits include "Dead Man Walking," "The Shawshank Redemption" (for which he received his first Academy Award nomination and an A.S.C. Award), "The Secret Garden," "Passion Fish," "Thunderheart," "Homicide," "Air America," "The Long Walk Home," "Mountains of the Moon," "Pascali's Island," "White Mischief," "Stormy Monday," "Personal Services," "The Kitchen Toto," "Sid & Nancy," "Defense of the Realm," "Shadey," "The Innocent," "1984" and "Another Time, Another Place."

As a documentary filmmaker, Deakins made "Eritrea Behind the Lines," about the liberation war in Eritrea; "Around the World with Ridgeway," about the life aboard one of the entrants in a round-the-world yacht race; "When the World Changed," a film following the lives of five patients in a mental hospital; and several anthropological documentaries in the Sudan, India and West Africa.
