The director of photography is Phil Meheux, B.S.C., the production designer is Norman Garwood and the editor is Terry Rawlings, A.C.E. Music is by Christopher Young. ENTRAPMENT began its journey to the screen when Ron Bass pitched the story to Fountainbridge Films partners Sean Connery and Rhonda Tollefson in only seven lines. Connery and Tollefson recognized the potential in the brief pitch, which described two very different characters-- the worldly thief and the beautiful and tough insurance investigator out to make a name for herself-- who form an unexpected alliance. As the screenplay evolved, the relationship between Mac and Gin was further developed, becoming pivotal to the plot. Tollefson notes, "We wanted to pursue a character-driven plot, which we hope will keep audiences guessing about the relationships and the adventures." According to Sean Connery, "ENTRAPMENT is a good yarn, with wit, and an intriguing romantic element that puts a real sting in the tale. It's like a Peking Opera-- each character has an agenda different from the one they initially appear to have." Connery's appreciation of the screenplay stems from more than an actor's perspective. Serving as one of the film's producers, he was heavily involved, with Tollefson, in the development of the script, casting and pre-production. Once shooting commenced, their duties became more distinct. "Rhonda looked after the day-to-day, nuts-and-bolts of the production," Connery explains. "I saw my contribution as producer as keeping up the momentum of filming and working with director Jon Amiel, the crew and the other actors to maintain a set where everything was enjoyable as much as possible." |
