JOHN CUSACK (Nick Falzone) most recently starred in the Academy Award-nominated World War II epic The Thin Red Line, based on the James Jones novel about the battle of Guadalcanal. The film was directed by Terrence Malick for release by Twentieth Century Fox.

In 1997, Cusack received rave reviews for his portrayal of a hit man who goes through a spiritual crisis during his high school reunion in the hit comedy Grosse Pointe Blank. He also co-wrote and produced the film under the aegis of his New Crime Productions.

That same year, Cusack starred in the blockbuster Con Air, the Clint Eastwood directed Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, and voiced the role of Dimitri in the animated feature Anastasia, released by Twentieth Century Fox.

Cusack previously received accolades for his portrayal of a clever young con artist in Stephen Frears’ The Grifters, as well as Eight Men Out, Say Anything and Rob Reiner’s The Sure Thing. Cusack later worked with Reiner again in a supporting role in Stand By Me.

Other film credits include City Hall opposite Al Pacino, True Colors, Roland Joffe’s Fat Man and Little Boy, Woody Allen’s Shadows and Fog and Bullets Over Broadway, Robert Altman’s The Player, Alan Parker’s The Road to Wellville and Tim Robbins’ Bob Roberts.

Upcoming films include Being John Malkovich, The Cradle Will Rock, written and directed by Tim Robbins, and The Jack Bull for HBO, starring with John Goodman, which Cusack will also executive produce under his New Crime Productions banner, with a script written by his father, Dick Cusack. This spring Cusack begins filming High Fidelity, in which he will star and produce.

In addition to his film work, Cusack founded New Criminals Theater Company, which is the foremost avant-garde theater company next to the Steppenwolf Company based in Chicago. He has directed four plays with the group there, including Alagazam...After the Dog Year and Methusalem, which won him a Jeff Citation for Best Director at Chicago’s famed Joseph Jefferson Awards. He also directed for the theater company Hunter S. Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
